Job description

CMA is currently working with outstanding organisations that are leading the way within their industry sector and now have multiple sites nationwide. Due to expansion, they are seeking a Payroll Specialist to support the existing team with various payrolls across multiple sites. Based at their Head Office in Southampton, you will join a supportive team working alongside colleagues within the payroll function. The role offers a hybrid working model, combining home and office-based work following the training period. Onsite parking will be available.

What will the Payroll Specialist role involve?
  1. Collecting and entering data within the payroll system for new starters and leavers.
  2. Supporting the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  3. Liaising with Managers to resolve issues within a bespoke rostering system.
  4. Assisting the Payroll Manager with projects.
  5. Handling inbound calls related to payroll.
  6. Dealing with HMRC queries.
  7. Processing emails.
  8. Performing manual calculations related to pay and annual leave.
Suitable Candidate for the Payroll Specialist role:
  • End-to-end payroll experience, including a strong understanding of statutory payments and manual calculations.
  • Experience with Sage 50 (preferred).
  • Experience with high-volume payrolls (preferred).
  • A proactive, solution-focused attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues.
