A leading public sector organization is searching for a Payroll Specialist to manage payroll processing and HR-related projects. You will play a vital role in maintaining employee records, ensuring compliance with payroll policies, and supporting employees with their inquiries. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Maths.
  • Experience in processing payroll and providing HR support.
  • Ability to liaise with stakeholders on policies and procedures.

Job description

MCS Group are delighted to be partnering with this large public sector organisation in their search for a Payroll Specialist.

The role:

  • Process monthly payrolls including processing overtime, promotions and relevant allowances.
  • Assist with HR/Payroll related projects.
  • Rectify any payroll discrepancies.
  • Process all HMRC transactions including in-year and end-of-year forms.
  • Maintain accurate employee absence records.
  • Maintain an email and telephone support desk dealing with payroll, ER, recruitment, absence, pensions and benefits queries.
  • Provide specialised system support to employees post implementation of HR systems and advise on best use of payroll systems.
  • Create and update employee records.
  • Process resignations, special leave and reference requests.
  • Input HR related invoices and Pos.

The Person

As the successful candidate you will have the following background and experience:

Essential

  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs to include English and Maths at Grace C or above.
  • Experience inputting and processing payroll.
  • Experience providing advice and support to employees and management on HR/payroll policies and procedures and statutory payments.
  • Experience liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
