Qualifications

  • Previous experience in payroll processes including statutory payments and manual tax calculations.

Job description

We're looking for a Payroll Services Assistant to join our team where your work helps ensure that over 14,000 colleagues across the UK and Ireland are paid accurately and on time.

As a Payroll Services Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering timely and accurate payroll services for both 4-weekly and monthly pay runs through our managed service provider. You'll be working closely with a collaborative team, ensuring a smooth and compliant payroll process.

As Payroll Services Assistant, you will:

  • Support the processing payroll for a large, multi-site organisation (UK & Ireland), covering over 14,000 colleagues across various pay frequencies.
  • Support diverse payroll processes across retail, distribution centres, and our Customer Support Centre.
  • Input and maintain accurate payroll data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with deadlines.
  • Resolve colleague queries promptly and efficiently, collaborating with line managers for timely resolutions.
  • Handle a range of payroll matters including statutory payments, absence, and auto-enrolment.
  • Support continuous improvements to simplify processes and enhance service delivery.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • At least 2 years experience working as a Payroll Assistant role with an managed service payroll provider for 3,000+ employees.
  • Skilled in Excel (V-lookups, pivot tables, formulas).
  • Experience with ResourceLink or a similar HRIS/payroll system is desirable.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
  • Previous experience of payroll processes including statutory payments, absence, and auto-enrolment and manual tax calculations as required.
