TC Group is a fast-growing top 20 accountancy firm recruiting a Payroll Senior / Payroll Manager to join our Colchester or Clacton-on-Sea offices. The role supports both full-time and part-time hours with hybrid working, offering a salary of £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience.

Key duties include processing payroll for varied clients, managing a payroll portfolio, and ensuring data accuracy and compliance across internal systems.

Qualifications

• CIPP qualified or qualified by experience.
• Minimum of 3 years' experience in a practice environment.
• Knowledge of payroll legislation to enable client queries to be dealt with.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office/Excel.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Awareness of confidentiality and need for discretion.
• Ability to work well in a pressured and fast paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Processing payroll on behalf of clients for varying client types.
• Running a payroll portfolio liaising with clients and assisting with queries.
• Manage internal systems.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure seamless flow and maintenance of employee data, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service.
• Maintain meticulous records and a robust document control system, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Stay up to date with company policies and tax legislation impacting payroll, ensuring adherence and compliance at all times.

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 21-36 hours per week with flexible, hybrid working

Holiday: 22 days annual leave (excluding bank holidays)

About the Payroll Senior / Payroll Manager role

TC Group, a fast‑growing top 20 accountancy firm, is looking for a Payroll Senior / Payroll Manager to join our team in either the Colchester or Clacton-on-Sea office.

We are open to full‑time candidates (36 hours per week) or part‑time candidates (minimum of 21 hours per week over 3 days).

Key responsibilities

• Processing payroll on behalf of clients for varying client types
• Running a payroll portfolio liaising with clients and assisting with queries
• Manage internal systems
• Collaborate with clients to ensure seamless flow and maintenance of employee data, fostering strong relationships and delivering exceptional service
• Maintain meticulous records and a robust document control system, ensuring accuracy and compliance
• Stay up to date with company policies and tax legislation impacting payroll, ensuring adherence and compliance at all times
