Monday to Friday, working hours are 9am till 5pm, or am to , remote working is possible - 3 days in the office/ two days working from home.

We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to support our Payroll Team Leader in ensuring all payroll tasks are completed accurately and on time. This role is ideal for someone with knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, and pensions, who can act as a key point of contact for queries and escalations from managers and employees across the business.

As a payroll expert, you will play a crucial role in reviewing processes for efficiency, sharing your expertise with team members, and providing ongoing training and support. You'll be responsible for processing and finalising monthly payrolls in line with agreed schedules, ensuring compliance and consistency at every step.

What you'll be doing

  • Support the Payroll supervisor to ensure key tasks and deadlines are met
  • Share knowledge and experience with other team members, providing ongoing training and support
  • Maintain knowledge of statutory legislation relating to PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, and pensions
  • Serve as the point of contact for queries and escalations for managers and employees within the business
  • Conduct process reviews to ensure efficient ways of working within the team
  • Act as process expert for relevant payroll access within the team
  • Responsible for processing and finalising monthly payrolls in line with payroll schedules

The role is for you if...

  • Have strong communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Possess strong analytical skills and attention to detail with high accuracy
  • Have effective time management skills and can work under pressure to tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate self-motivation and flexibility with strong organisational, planning, and administrative skills
  • Maintain integrity and confidentiality
  • Have at least 2 years of payroll experience (ideally in retail or manufacturing environments)
  • Have demonstrable experience supporting new technologies and system changes
  • Are computer literate, ideally
  • Have experience testing new functionality and training team members
  • Experience with MHR ITrent and Iris Cascade is beneficial
