Job summary

HRGO Plc in Ashford, Kent is seeking a Payroll Manager to own the in-house payroll function. You will manage weekly payroll for temporary workers, oversee Staffology and API data flows, and ensure accurate HMRC submissions and pension compliance.

You will lead two Payroll Administrators, resolve complex cases, and coordinate with Finance and Operations to improve controls and automation as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Strong technical payroll knowledge in a high-volume, in-house PAYE environment.
• Solid understanding of UK payroll legislation and statutory payments.
• Experience managing or developing a small payroll team.

Responsibilities

• Take overall ownership of weekly temporary worker payroll, accurate and on time.
• Oversee Staffology payroll process and data flows via API connections (FONT).
• Support weekly payroll and reconciliations, resolve differences.
• Ensure HMRC submissions, pension compliance, and statutory filings are timely.
• Lead and develop the two Payroll Administrators; provide cover as needed.
• Oversee monthly payroll for permanent employees and assist when required.
• Collaborate with Finance/Operations to improve controls and automation.
