Job summary

Castle Employment Group in Leeds is seeking a Payroll Officer to join a growing finance team. You will deliver accurate fortnightly and monthly payrolls, maintain employee pay data, and act as a key contact for payroll queries.

This full-time, office-based role offers ownership of payroll processes, opportunities to improve workflows, and collaboration with the wider finance team. Prior experience in high-volume payroll and UK PAYE is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy, high-volume payroll environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll (PAYE) and statutory requirements.
• Able to manage confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver fortnightly and monthly payrolls from start to finish
• Keep employee pay information up to date, including starters, leavers and changes
• Check payroll data, identify discrepancies and reconcile before payment
• Ensure PAYE, statutory payments and HMRC reporting are correct and on time
• Be a knowledgeable contact for payroll questions across the business
• Work with the wider finance team to provide payroll information for reporting
• Help maintain payroll controls and support audit/compliance activity
• Identify opportunities to simplify and improve payroll processes
