Payroll Officer - £26,000 | Leeds | Full-Time

Are you a detail-driven professional with a passion for payroll? We're looking for a proactive and reliable Payroll Officer to join our client's team in Leeds. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time.

Role Overview:

As the Payroll Officer, you'll manage the full payroll cycle, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and delivering a seamless payroll experience. You'll collaborate with HR and Finance to maintain accurate records and resolve any payroll-related queries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process monthly payroll for all member of staff, including multiple payroll runs of over 500 members of staff
  • Maintain and update payroll records
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC and statutory requirements
  • Respond to employee payroll queries
  • Prepare payroll reports and assist with audits
  • Support year-end processes including P60s and P11Ds
What We're Looking For:
  • Experience in a payroll role (minimum 1 year preferred)
  • Knowledge of UK payroll legislation and best practices
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or similar)
  • High attention to detail and strong numerical skills
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities
