Qualifications

  • Experience with overseas payroll bureaus is essential.

Payroll Officer - 30 Hours per week - Hybrid Hook Norton
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £27,200 per annum
Hours: 30 per week

Our head office is based in the beautiful village of Hook Norton near Banbury. Here, you will find our teams of finance, HR, purchasing, marketing & creative that support all of our locations across the Thomas Franks family. Ample parking is available when visiting.

We are looking for a Payroll Officer to join our team at our Head Office in Hook Norton.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role will involve working within a payroll team of 3 and a wider finance team of 19. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll knowledge and excellent attention to detail. You should enjoy working in a friendly environment as part of a small team, committed to providing high-quality, accurate, and timely payroll services.

Main responsibilities:

  1. Managing payroll for our European division, including UK and Scotland payrolls (approx. 2,500 employees).
  2. Coordinating with up to 10 bureaus across Europe and working with operational teams in each country to meet monthly deadlines.
  3. Entering and importing variable overtime and casual hours.
  4. Processing new starters and leavers, liaising with payroll bureaus as necessary.
  5. Processing contract amendments, calculating back pay, sick pay, maternity, and paternity pay.
  6. Calculating gross to net pay manually when required.
  7. Generating payroll reports, payslips, P45s, P60s, and statutory year-end returns.
  8. Preparing and sending payroll reports and BACS authorization forms.
  9. Supporting payroll and pension administration tasks.
  10. Running the full payroll process from start to finish, including month-end procedures.
  11. Monitoring payroll email accounts, resolving queries promptly.
  12. Assisting in process and system improvements.
  13. Training staff on payroll procedures and best practices.
