The Role

We are seeking a confident, proactive, and analytical Payroll Officer to join our busy, fast-paced Payroll function. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth and accurate delivery of payroll services across our workforce, supporting both temporary and permanent staff.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely and accurate payment of wages by BACS to 2,000 temporary workers (weekly) and 240 permanent staff (monthly).
  • Update and maintain payroll records.
  • Respond to payroll queries promptly and professionally.
  • Process new starters, leavers, hours worked, expenses, SSP, SMP, absences, commissions, and personal detail changes.
  • Complete tax year-end procedures, including P60s, P11Ds, PSA, and other reports.
  • Manage all aspects of pensions, including auto-enrolment, communications, reconciliations, compliance, and salary sacrifice.
  • Create and provide reports in Microsoft Excel for Finance and Operations teams.
  • Support system upgrades with the Projects Team to ensure payroll runs smoothly.
