Job summary

Reed is hiring a Payroll Officer in Salford on a fixed-term contract. The role covers high-volume payroll processing under UK legislation and HMRC guidelines, including family leave and timesheets. 1-2 days in the office per week with 36 hours weekly, initially for 12 months.

The ideal candidate has solid UK payroll knowledge, public sector exposure, and familiarity with iTrent or SAP. You will work well in a team and meet deadlines while delivering accurate payroll results.

Payroll Officer

• Location: Salford,Hybrid (1-2 days per week in the office)
• Working Hours: 36 hours per week
• Length of role: Initial 12 months

We are seeking a Payroll Officer to join our team on a fixed-term contract. The role involves processing and calculating high-volume payroll in accordance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC guidelines. This includes handling family leave, timesheet data, and other pay-related activities aligned with employment terms and conditions. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of UK payroll legislation, with public sector experience and familiarity with iTrent or SAP being advantageous.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Process and calculate high-volume payroll accurately and timely, ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC guidelines.
• Handle various payroll functions including family leave, timesheet data, and other pay-related activities in line with employment terms.
• Prioritise own workload effectively and prioritise complex cases as necessary.
• Work collaboratively within a team while taking ownership of individual responsibilities.
• Deliver excellent customer service and meet fixed deadlines in line with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
