Job description

Following some changes in our Payroll Team, we are looking for an enthusiastic Payroll Officer to work within the Payroll Team at MU Services Ltd. You will be reporting to the Payroll Manager and be involved in a wide range of activities within the Payroll Team, including but not limited to, processing starters, leavers, ad hoc payments, calculating statutory deductions, benefits, and answering employees' queries.

Role Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure efficient systems and processes are maintained for the timely and accurate calculation and payment of employee salaries.
  2. Ensure payroll payments are made in accordance with the University’s terms and conditions of employment, internal controls, and statutory taxation regulations.
  3. Maintain a good understanding of payroll calculations, including National Insurance Contributions, PAYE, and pensions.
  4. Communicate effectively with colleagues, staff, and third parties.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Good understanding of payroll calculations and elements.
  • Solution-oriented mindset, keen eye for detail, and effective communication skills.
