Job description

Portfolio Payrolls are currently working with an accountancy practice in the Harrogate area who are currently recruiting for a Payroll Manager to join their small team of one other. They provide an excellent working environment, are a flexible working business and other great benefits and incentives!

Key Duties/Tasks:

  • Technical skills including Payroll System experience & excel skills
  • Working on client payroll as part of a bureau
  • Driving deadlines and check payroll of the more junior team member
  • Support the busy payroll department high volume starters and leavers
  • Experience dealing with multiple payrolls of varying shift patterns
  • Must have very strong Excel (VLookUps/Pivot Tables)
  • High volume, fast paced
  • Provide comprehensive advice to employees in relation to payroll queries
  • Ensuring all necessary payments are made within the deadlines set, for example Reconciliations.
  • Opportunity to get involved with significant payroll projects
  • Manual calculations

Desirable skills and attributes:

  • 3+ years payroll experience ideally
  • Previous payroll experience in a fast paced and high-volume environment in industries such as recruitment payroll
  • Bureau/umbrella payroll experience ideally
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Enjoy working within a team
  • Motivated to progress in management
  • Supervisory experience advantageous
  • Excellent communicator as you will be answering queries
  • Confident with Excel
  • CIPP advantageous not essential

Normal working hours are 37.5 hours per week, 9:00am to 5.30pm with 1-hour unpaid break.
