Job summary

Sharp Consultancy in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Standalone Payroll Manager to own the payroll function end-to-end, ensuring accurate, on-time payments and compliance with UK regulations. You will work autonomously, manage starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses and benefits, produce payroll reports, and respond to payroll queries from stakeholders as the business grows.

Qualifications

  • Solid experience managing payroll independently and taking full ownership of the function.
  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to deal with employees and senior stakeholders.
  • Proactive approach to payroll process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the full end-to-end payroll process from start to finish.

  • Acting as the key point of contact for all payroll queries across the organisation.

Job description

A growing and successful business based in Sheffield is looking to appoint an experienced Standalone Payroll Manager to take ownership of its payroll function.


This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys working autonomously and is looking for a role where they can make a real impact within a growing organisation.


As the Standalone Payroll Manager, you will have full responsibility for the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time, while maintaining compliance with all relevant legislation and regulations.


The Role

Your responsibilities will include:



  • Managing the full end-to-end payroll process from start to finish.

  • Taking ownership of monthly payroll, ensuring accurate and timely payments.

  • Managing payroll legislation, statutory payments, deductions and reporting.

  • Ensuring compliance with HMRC and other relevant regulatory requirements.

About You

The successful candidate will have solid experience managing payroll independently and will be comfortable taking full ownership of the function.


You will ideally have:



  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience.

  • Experience working in a standalone or highly autonomous payroll position.

  • Excellent knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirements.

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach.

  • The ability to work to tight deadlines and manage competing priorities.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to deal with employees and senior stakeholders.

  • A proactive approach, with the ability to identify opportunities to improve payroll processes.
