Payroll Manager

We are working with a progressive accountancy practice who are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to take responsibility for their client payroll function. This is a fantastic opportunity for a payroll professional looking for flexibility, autonomy, and variety in their role.

The Role
  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for a diverse portfolio of clients.

  • Answer payroll-related queries, providing excellent client service.

  • Input payroll data, including hours, overtime, incentives, and bonuses.

  • Process weekly and monthly BACS payments in line with client requirements.

  • Maintain PAYE records and update coding notices.

  • Calculate and manage holiday pay, absence, sick pay, and statutory payments.

  • Administer pensions and auto-enrolment, including communications.

  • Handle year-end processes such as P60s and P11Ds.

  • Set up new starters and process leavers/employee changes.

  • Take on other ad-hoc payroll duties as needed.

Person Specification
  • Previous experience in a payroll role is essential (client payroll experience desirable).

  • Confident working independently, with strong problem-solving skills.

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.

  • Professional, discreet, and able to handle confidential information with integrity.

  • Proficient in payroll software (experience with Iris Payroll or QuickBooks advantageous).

Hours
  • 80 hours per month.

  • Must be available to work full-time hours during the final two weeks of each month.

  • Flexible working arrangements: home, office, or hybrid.
