Job summary

Page Personnel Manchester, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a Senior Payroll Manager for a 6–9 month contract. The role will be based largely in Manchester with hybrid/remote flexibility.

You will lead the payroll function, drive a system migration, ensure accurate payroll processing, and maintain strict compliance with legislation and internal policies while collaborating with finance to deliver timely payroll reporting.

Qualifications

• Be an experienced Senior Payroll Manager/Head of Payroll.
• Experience with systems migration/implementation.
• Experience with payroll reporting.
• Ideally have experience implementing systems.
• Commit to a 6–9 month contract.
• Able to commute to the Manchester office 2 days per week.

Responsibilities

Job Description

The Payroll Manager role is initially a 6-9 Month Contract role and ideally will be based 2-3 days in the Manchester office in Manchester, however there could be the opportunity for more flex and remote working. Reporting to the Head of Finance key duties will include

• Support with the roll out and implementation of a new Payroll System
• Oversee and manage payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and internal policies.
• Lead and support the payroll team, providing guidance and resolving any queries.
• Collaborate with the accounting and finance departments to ensure smooth integration of payroll data.
• Prepare and review payroll reports to support financial planning and decision-making.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.
• Manage relationships with external payroll providers and other stakeholders.
• Handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

The Successful Applicant

• Be an experienced Senior Payroll Manager/Head of Payroll
• Have systems migration/implementation experience
• Have experience of Payroll reporting
• Ideally have experience of implemeting systems
• Be able to consider a 6-9 month contract
• Be able to commute to Manchester office site 2 days per week
