Overview

We have a fantastic opportunity to join a thriving staffing business in Surrey working on a hybrid basis as a Payroll & Accounts Manager. This is a key role, combining responsibility for payroll with broader accounting duties that support the organisation's financial operations.

You will take ownership of the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness, while also managing reconciliations, accruals, and key financial postings.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will have autonomy over payroll and day-to-day accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing the full payroll cycle for employees and contractors.
  • Ensuring compliance with PAYE, pensions/auto-enrolment, and HMRC legislation.
  • Post payroll journals and monthly PAYE accruals.
  • Managing holiday pay accruals and related adjustments.
  • Uploading and processing sales and purchase invoices in Sage 50.
  • Performing reconciliations.
  • Managing monthly accruals and prepayment releases.
  • Updating fixed assets and processing depreciation.
  • Preparing VAT returns and adjustments.
  • Processing rebates and loan repayment journals.
About You
  • In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, PAYE, NI, and pensions is essential.
  • You will be CIPP qualified.
  • You will have experience managing a small team.
  • You will have proven experience in payroll and accounts management.
  • Proficiency in Sage 50 and RSM Intime (desirable).
  • Strong reconciliation and journal posting skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Clear communicator with a collaborative mindset.
