Job description

Social network you want to login/join with:

Payroll might not make the front page of the company newsletter, but it’s one of the few things every single employee cares about. Get it right, and nobody notices. Get it wrong, and everyone notices.

This business needs someone who can keep it right. Weekly, monthly, year-end — plus the pensions, benefits and auto-enrolment that come with it. You’ll also get your hands on the SAP side of things, including reconciliations and P11d prep.

It’s a standalone role, so this isn’t about following someone else’s process manual. You’ll own the function, recommend changes where you see them, and improve how payroll is run. In other words: responsibility and freedom in equal measure.

You’ll also have the chance to mentor an Advisor. So, as well as keeping the engine running, you’ll be building capability for the future.

What we’re looking for:

  • CIPP qualified (or equivalent experience that proves you don’t need the letters).
  • A solid grasp of payroll and pension legislation.
  • Someone who builds good relationships across HR and the wider business.
  • An eye for improving processes and systems, not just keeping them ticking over.

If you want to run a payroll function properly, with the autonomy to shape how it works, this is the one worth considering.
