Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a Payroll Officer/Manager in North Bristol to handle a variety of payrolls, manage payments, and provide top-notch client service. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in payroll processing and be proficient in BrightPay, Sage, and Xero. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role, which offers a permanent, full-time position with a salary dependent on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in payroll processing within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

  • Processing weekly, fortnightly, four–weekly and monthly payrolls for clients.
  • Managing BACS payments and submitting HMRC returns.
  • Completing year–end submissions accurately and on time.

Overview

Payroll Officer/Manager

Location: North Bristol

Position: Permanent, Full–Time

Salary: Dependent on Experience

What you will be doing
  • Processing weekly, fortnightly, four–weekly and monthly payrolls for a variety of clients
  • Managing BACS payments and submit HMRC returns, including CIS submissions
  • Upload pension data to various pension providers
  • Completing all year–end submissions accurately and on time
  • Communicating directly with clients, providing a high level of service and advice
What you'll need to succeed
  • Experience in payroll processing within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau
  • Proficient in using BrightPay, Sage and Xero
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be comfortable working independently and as part of a collaborative team
