Payroll Implementation Manager – UK Client Delivery

Job summary

EY is seeking a payroll implementation specialist to work with clients on UK payroll needs and lead end-to-end delivery of implementations. You will coordinate data, run live tests, and hand over to BAU teams, while developing payroll reports and supporting junior staff.

The role requires deep UK payroll knowledge, experience with high-volume payroll projects, and familiarity with AE/RTI rules. A CIPP qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of UK Payroll experience and solid knowledge.
• Payroll qualifications such as CIPP preferred.
• Experience delivering payroll implementations in high-volume environments.
• Understanding of payroll compliance: AE, RTI, Apprenticeship Levy.
• Strong knowledge of upstream/downstream payroll processes.
• Familiarity with UK payroll rules and legislation.

Responsibilities

• Interact with clients to understand payroll needs and develop requirements.
• Plan and manage delivery of client payroll implementations to meet dates.
• Coordinate data migration, parallel and first live runs with client and teams.
• Ensure smooth handover to business-as-usual team.
• Develop bespoke payroll reports and general ledger reports.
• Support and develop junior team members.
• Prepare fee and budget details.
