Payroll / Finance Officer Independent School (East Surrey Area)
Start Date: August 2025
Contract Type: Permanent, Part-Time (3 days per week, all year round). Opportunity to build up to full-time.
Salary: Competitive, discussed at interview

A highly regarded independent school in the Surrey area is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Officer to join their Finance Team. This is a part-time role (with potential to increase to full-time) supporting the smooth operation of payroll and financial processes in a busy and well-established school environment.

What We re Looking For:
  • Ideally ACA, ACCA, CIMA qualified (or qualified by experience with a strong payroll background).
  • Proven experience in payroll administration and financial accounting in the UK.
  • Strong understanding of HMRC regulations, pensions, and statutory deductions.
  • Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage end-to-end payroll for over 300 employees.
  • Familiarity with VAT returns, journal entries, and year-end financial statements.
  • Experience working in education (desirable but not essential).
  • A positive, collaborative, and self-motivated approach.
