Overview

Job Title: Payroll Delivery Specialist - 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Salary: Up to £35,000

Working Structure: Hybrid

Location: Northampton

Responsibilities
  • Process payroll for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees accurately and on time
  • Maintain payroll records and troubleshoot employee payroll queries
  • Calculate tax, deductions, overtime, bonuses, and commissions
  • Prepare statutory filings and liaise with relevant tax authorities
  • Act as point of escalation, providing specialist guidance to the payroll team
  • Support both BAU operations and project-based initiatives, including change projects
  • Drive process improvements and embed risk mitigation policies
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless payroll delivery
Ideal Candidate Profile / Qualifications
  • Experience in payroll administration and delivery at a specialist level
  • Proficient in Excel; strong data manipulation skills
  • Some payroll experience required; systems experience (SAP, Workday, or similar) advantageous
  • Ability to balance compliance, legislation, and operational priorities
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communicator and problem solver, able to guide colleagues and liaise with stakeholders
  • Experience in risk management and process improvement is a plus
