Job summary

HSL Compliance Limited is hiring a Payroll Assistant to own end-to-end payroll processing for weekly and monthly runs, on-site in Ross-on-Wye. You will manage sensitive employee pay queries, statutory payments, and month-end reconciliations while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with regulations.

You will work closely with HR and Finance to ensure accurate data flow, maintain payroll records, and support governance across payroll processes.

Qualifications

• Experience in end-to-end payroll processing is highly advantageous.
• Confidential handling of sensitive employee data and payroll information.
• Strong numerical accuracy and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

• Run weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and on time.
• Maintain payroll databases and statutory records, plus leave planning systems.
• Process back pay, termination pay, overtime, and annual leave accruals/provisions.
• Support month-end reconciliations and prepare General Ledger journals.
• Generate internal and statutory reports tracking sickness, leave and overtime.
• Serve as the primary contact for staff and manager payroll/tax queries.
• Collaborate with HR and Finance to ensure accurate data flow and resolve queries.
