A leading business in York is seeking a Payroll Coordinator on a temporary basis. In this role, you will manage payroll processes, ensure compliance with UK legislation, and handle payroll queries. Payroll Co-ordinator - What you’ll be doing
Running end-to-end payroll processes across multiple pay runs
Processing starters, leavers, and statutory payments (SSP, SMP, etc.)
Responding to payroll queries from employees and stakeholders
Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and internal policies
Reconciling payroll data and liaising with HR and finance
Supporting with reporting, audits, and process improvements
Payroll Co-ordinator - What we’re looking for
Previous experience in a payroll-focused role
Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and auto-enrolment
Confident using payroll software (Sage, ADP, or similar)
Excel proficiency and good overall systems literacy
Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and organisational skills
A discreet, process-driven team player who can work independently

Salary: £30,000–£40,000 (depending on experience)
