Job summary

Transport for London (TfL) is seeking an Employee Payments Specialist to support payroll processes and data integrity within a hybrid 50/50 office/home setup. The role focuses on accurate payroll production, regulatory compliance and continuous system improvements. 12-month FTC with potential permanency; salary circa £40K, band 2.

The successful candidate will manage payroll data, liaise with HMRC, and handle monthly/annual reporting while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in Employee Payments/payroll in a large organisation.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI and payroll compliance.
• Experience using payroll software and ERP systems (SAP).

Responsibilities

• Assist with data compilation for PAYE Settlement Agreement, travel and expense data and fringe benefit data.
• Embed new Employee Payments processes and drive continuous improvement.
• Support cultural attributes focused on compliance, service delivery and continuous improvement.
• Deliver on KPIs for Employee Payments.
• Provide payroll guidance to managers, employees and external organisations.
• Maintain payroll systems to ensure timely, accurate and compliant payrolls.
• Update payroll data for legislative changes and support payroll processes design.
• Ensure timely processing of payroll BACS, CHAPS and Faster Payments; reconcile payroll ledgers.
• Resolve system errors and avoid repeat issues.
