Payroll & Benefits Manager Chertsey (Hybrid working)

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Payroll & Benefits Manager to join our Toshiba team!
You will play a crucial role with a hands-on approach, possessing the experience to oversee the entire payroll function and deliver a world-class service.
You will be responsible for managing and delivering the UK payroll for approximately 200 employees using the IRIS Cascade HR & Payroll system. Your role includes liaising with stakeholders, managing bonus and commission payments, and overseeing benefits and fleet administration for Toshiba Tec.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced Payroll Manager, familiar with UK payroll management, benefits administration, and maintaining high accuracy and compliance in payroll, benefits, and fleet operations.
Your strategic vision will help improve payroll processes and employee benefits programs, supporting Toshiba Tec’s growth ambitions.
The Role:
- Payroll: End-to-end processing of monthly payroll (~200 employees), collaborating with HR to ensure accurate data collection and processing via IRIS Cascade.
- Disbursements: Manage payments such as HMRC liabilities and court orders.
- Payroll Changes: Ensure all payroll modifications are authorized and implemented in coordination with HR.
- Reporting & Queries: Provide timely payroll information and resolve employee queries confidentially.
- Family Leave & Year-End: Handle leave calculations and year-end procedures, including P11Ds and P60s.
- Benefits & Pensions: Manage benefits, pension uploads, and compliance with auto-enrollment regulations.
- Communication & Documentation: Maintain payroll manuals, process documents, and communicate benefits to staff.
- Process Improvement: Review and optimize payroll processes regularly.
- Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to legal requirements and manage audits.
- Benefits Renewal & Administration: Oversee benefits renewal processes, employee queries, and market research for new offerings.
Fleet Administration
- Coordinate with Fleet Management to administer approximately 60 vehicles.
- Manage lease end processes, insurance checks, and mileage tracking.
- Ensure fleet compliance with company policies and update vehicle data accordingly.
Compliance & Best Practice
- Maintain compliance with UK tax laws, statutory regulations, and company policies.
- Keep accurate payroll and benefits records for audits.
- Stay updated on UK payroll compliance trends.
- Provide insights to leadership on payroll and benefits data.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Extensive UK payroll and benefits management experience.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms, especially IRIS Cascade.
- Strategic, tech-savvy, and employee-focused mindset.
- Up-to-date UK payroll laws, tax regulations, and pension obligations.
- Strong data manipulation skills with Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
