Portfolio Payroll are working with a prestigious education sector client seeking a meticulous Payroll Assistant to join their team in Greater London. You will deliver accurate payroll for employees and freelance staff in a complex environment, handling timesheets, amendments, and compliance.

Key responsibilities include processing timesheets, overtime, payslips, and year-end tasks, while addressing staff queries and driving payroll system improvements.

Qualifications

• Experience in payroll processing, ideally in a timesheet-heavy environment.
• Understanding of payroll legislation and compliance.
• Meticulous attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.
• Confident communication to liaise with staff and managers.

Responsibilities

• Accurately input and process timesheet-based payroll data for a diverse workforce.
• Manage and verify overtime, adjustments, and variable pay elements.
• Assist in the preparation and distribution of payslips and deductions.
• Support year-end processes, including P11Ds and P60s.
• Respond to employee queries with clear and professional guidance.
• Contribute to the improvement of payroll systems and processes.
