Overview

Location: West Yorkshire

Salary: £26,000 per annum

Hours: Full time, Monday-Thursday 8am-4.30pm, Friday 8am-3.30pm

The Role: Our client, a respected manufacturer in the engineering sector, is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Payroll Administrator to take ownership of the payroll function end-to-end. This role is perfect for someone with solid payroll experience who is looking to grow further, with opportunities to support the wider Finance team.

Responsibilities
  • Process bi-weekly payrolls and subcontractor payments accurately and on time
  • Maintain payroll records (new starters, leavers, tax code updates)
  • Manage time and attendance system and timesheet entry
  • Ensure statutory payroll compliance
  • Handle employee payroll queries (payslips, deductions, tax codes)
  • Manage monthly HMRC, pension, and other payroll-related payments
  • Upload pension contributions to the provider portal
  • Prepare payroll reporting (bi-weekly, monthly, and year-end: P60s, P11Ds, P32s, RTI)
  • Process payroll journals and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support finance with accounts payable, invoice processing, and expenses
Skills & Experience
  • Previous end-to-end payroll experience essential
  • Accounts/finance exposure desirable (training provided)
  • Familiarity with payroll/accounting software (e.g. Sage) and time & attendance systems (Time-Pro a bonus)
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • High level of attention to detail and confidentiality
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
