Summary Of The Role

Working as part of the HR and Payroll team and reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the purpose of the Payroll Assistant" role is to ensure that colleagues are paid accurately, on time and in line with Company and contractual standards.

Hours of work: 30 hours per week

Key Duties/responsibilities

  • Support end to end payroll and benefits process for circa 2000 colleagues for circa 12 payrolls (mix of weekly and monthly) and 5 pension schemes, across different employing entities
  • Ensure all people data is accurately maintained
  • Ensure payroll accuracy meets company standards and colleague expectations, with a real focus on query and error management, resolution and communication to colleagues
  • Ensure the prompt processing of all payroll related activity to agreed deadlines
  • Investigate and resolve payroll queries
  • Assist in the development of systems and procedures to continuously support efficient payroll processing
  • Ensure that GDPR standards are always adhered to

Qualifications / Experience Required

The successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • Knowledge of Payroll systems and expertise in associated dependant software such as Excel and Microsoft Office
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi-task
  • Attention to detail, problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise and manage time effectively
  • Respect of confidentiality and the discretion to manage sensitive information in a professional manner
