Are you a detail-oriented payroll professional eager to own and manage end-to-end payroll and employee expenses in a vibrant, fast-paced environment? About the Role

As the Payroll Associate, you ll take ownership of the internal payroll process and employee expenses, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless delivery. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to deepen their in-house payroll expertise while working within a collaborative, people-focused organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the main internal contact for payroll and expenses
  • Partner with a 3rd-party provider for monthly payroll processing
  • Compile and verify payroll data (starters, leavers, bonuses, etc.)
  • Perform payroll checks and ensure compliance with HMRC requirements
  • Manage year-end payroll duties
  • Maintain accurate internal records in line with GDPR
  • Support pensions admin and auto-enrolment
  • Process employee expenses and offer clear policy guidance
  • Act as a payroll expert across new acquisitions during M&A activity

What We re Looking For

Essential:

  • Payroll experience and understanding of UK payroll legislation
  • Excellent attention to detail and numerical skills
  • Strong communication and Excel proficiency
  • Discretion with confidential information

Desirable:

  • CIPP qualified or working towards certification
  • Familiarity with third-party payroll providers and tools (e.g. Sage, ADP)
  • Experience in a financial or professional services firm
