Qualifications

  • Experience in Payroll administration.
  • Manipulation of data using Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation.
  • Ability to deliver payroll, pensions, and benefits.
  • Good general systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

  • Process all monthly payroll information including starters, leavers, and amendments.
  • Handle salary sacrifice schemes and deductions.
  • Ensure accuracy of the monthly payroll, rectifying errors efficiently.
  • Post monthly payroll to the accounting ledger and perform reconciliation.
  • Manage SMP, SSP, OMP processes.
  • Handle End of Year Certificate process.
  • Administer LGPS returns.
  • Address queries relating to pensions auto enrolment.
  • Oversee BACS transactions.
Job description

Portfolio Payroll are currently working with an organisation in the Middlesbrough Area who are currently recruiting for a Payroll Assistant. They are looking for someone who has strong experience as a Payroll Administrator or similar with a good understanding of legislation and process.

This is a busy payroll department with a high volume payroll across multiple business entities.

Key Objectives
  • To process all monthly payroll information including starters, leavers, amendments
  • Salary sacrifice schemes and payments and deductions
  • Process,monitor and check the accuracy of the monthly payroll ensuring that any errors are rectified efficiently
  • Post the monthly payroll to the accounting ledger and perform a reconciliation of the actual monthly payroll
  • SMP, SSP, OMP
  • End of Year Certificate process
  • LGPS return
  • Queries relating to pensions auto enrolment administration
  • BACS
Essential Requirements
  • Experience In Payroll administration
  • Manipulation of data - excel
  • Excellent communicator as you will be answering queries
  • Organised and strong attention to detail
  • Up to date legislation knowledge
  • Deliver payroll, pensions and benefits
  • Good general systems knowledge
