Job summary

Able Bridge Recruitment are recruiting a payroll professional for an accounting firm in the central belt of Scotland. The role manages client payrolls end-to-end, ensuring UK statutory compliance and high-quality service.

This is an office-based position, with at least 3 days in the office weekly, reporting to the payroll manager. We seek a candidate with at least 2 years of payroll experience in practice, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of payroll experience in an accountancy practice or bureau.
  • Candidates should be based near Denny or able to travel to the client daily.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll for a portfolio of clients within statutory deadlines.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of statutory regulations via in-house training.
  • Handle data imports/exports for new starters, leavers and changes.
  • Generate payroll reports and distribute payslips to multiple platforms.
  • Submit RTI reports to HMRC and manage client billing.

This vacancy, the result of growth will report into the payroll manager and will be office based for at least 3 days per week. The team is collaborative and supportive with the hiring manager being focused on developing the team around her.


The Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to manage a portfolio of clients and process their payroll requirements within agreed timeframes. You will be customer facing and working on a wide range of client portfolios to ensure UK statutory compliance is maintained as well as ensuring first in class customer service is delivered.


On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be responsible for the following;


  • Ensure accurate and timely payroll end-to-end production for various clients in accordance with statutory regulations within payroll deadlines and requirements

  • Service multiple clients as part of a team effort to deliver excellent service to our clients

  • Manage payroll deadlines and requirements of your own personal portfolio of payroll clients

  • Ensure you have up to date knowledge of statutory and legislative regulations by attending in-house training courses

  • Manage import/export of new employee and timesheet data onto the payroll platform, including:



  • Starters

  • Leavers

  • Absences and work plans

  • Variations and adjustments

  • Salary changes

  • Changes to benefits and allowances and different contract types

  • Child Care Voucher schemes

  • Pension deductions



  • Process statutory payments

  • Generate payroll reports, P45s etc., using our in-house systems and Microsoft Excel

  • Distribute payslips to multiple platforms

  • Submit reports to HMRC via RTI

  • Manage client billing

  • Ensure procedures and key control documents are kept up to date for auditing purposes

  • Any other ad hoc duties as required


The Requirements

We are looking for a payroll professional who has a minimum of 2 years of experience working within an accountancy practice/providing bureaux payroll services. We are looking for candidates who are locally based or who are able to travel to our client who is based near Denny on a daily basis. We are also looking for candidates who have exceptional attention to detail and who are strong communicators in both written and verbal form.


Our client does not hold a license to offer study support so will only consider applicants who are able to work unrestricted within the UK and who are based in the immediate vicinity.
