Job Description

We are now recruiting for our 2026 intake of placements. We can offer you a placement experience in Treasury Payroll that is the first step in a high profile career, with many of our placement students wishing to return to continue working with us after graduation.

We are looking for candidates who are intelligent, ambitious and great at working with people. You should enjoy solving complex problems and be interested in the financial services industry and areas affecting it. You will be well organised and proactive, calm under pressure and can communicate well at all levels (written and verbal).

You will be working with a small team with qualified accountants who are willing to share their knowledge, train you according to our processes and provide a supportive environment to develop new skills. You will be provided with opportunities to develop new processes and make an impact within the finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Record and update payroll changes received from the Scheme Administrator
  • Process monthly payrolls for a number of schemes, including submitting files for RTI by deadlines
  • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll and respond to daily payroll queries
  • Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to Scheme Administrator
  • Complete Year End Payroll Returns in a timely and accurate manner
  • Prepare and collate payments in a responsible, timely and accurate manner
  • Assist the corporate finance team with day to day financial management and productivity analysis across the business
  • Work with the accounts payable specialist on cost allocation and supplier management and assist the accounts receivable team on debt management and client billing
  • Assist the Fund Accounts and Treasury team with day-to-day financial management for Occupational Pension Schemes, process invoices/member payments/monthly payrolls for a number of schemes
  • Prepare and submit reports with various information to Scheme Administrators/Client Managers/External companies
  • Complete monthly bank reconciliations
  • Applying policies and procedures in the timely handling, processing and deposit of cash receipts or disbursements
  • Collate documents and prepare account opening forms for new Scheme bank accounts
  • Assist with any ad-hoc tasks and projects within the team
Qualifications
  • On track for 2:1 or above in a relevant degree.
  • A Level Maths grade B or above
  • GCSE Maths grade B or above
  • Proven technical and academic ability illustrated through grades and achievements
  • Evidence of proactive extra-curricular learning and engagement in chosen career path.
  • Excellent knowledge of computerised systems e.g. Microsoft Office/Windows applications, in particular Excel.
  • Relevant Work Experience.
  • An obvious interest in the industry in which we operate. For example evidence of attending events, seminars, self-study to promote knowledge in area of interest.
