We're looking for a detail-oriented and people-focused Payroll & HR Assistant to join our People Team. This part-time role offers flexibility, ideal for someone balancing work with other commitments.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage and process payroll accurately and on time, including salaries, overtime, deductions, and bonuses.
  • Handle payroll-related queries from employees and resolve discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with tax, National Insurance, and pension contributions.
  • Assist with Real Time Information (RTI) submissions to HMRC and end-of-year payroll reconciliations, including P60 issuance.
  • Maintain HR databases and records, ensuring accuracy and GDPR compliance.
  • Support employee relations activities, including investigations and disciplinaries.
  • Maintain training records and assist with training coordination.
  • Provide administrative support for benefits and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Handle reference requests, parental leave applications, and absence management.
  • Update HR systems, including employee records and organisational charts.
  • Generate reports for Payroll & HR functions as needed.
  • Ensure effective communication between HR, payroll, and other departments.
  • Manage communication systems for internal communication efficiency.

Who You Are

  • Experienced in payroll administration with UK regulations knowledge.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational skills.
  • Excellent communicator handling sensitive information professionally.
  • Team player with collaborative mindset.
  • Familiarity with HR systems is a plus.
  • Experience in hospitality or retail advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Tronc administration beneficial.
