Job Description:

Exciting opportunity for a Payroll and Accounting Technician to join our client, an Accountancy Practice located in Rugby on a full-time, permanent basis.

The Payroll and Accounting Technician will be tasked with preparing accounts, payroll processing, CIS processing, pension regulatory compliance, and VAT returns whilst also supervising junior members of staff.

The successful Payroll and Accounting Technician will be offered a very competitive salary, a varied and fulfilling role, and also progression routes to Director level.

Position Overview
  • Accounts preparation for sole traders, partnerships & limited companies
  • Preparing tax computations for personal tax returns
  • General bookkeeping, providing monthly and quarterly analysis
  • Managing a portfolio of payroll clients
  • Submitting weekly RTI returns, dealing with HMRC enquiries
  • Providing advice to clients on a range of issues such as payroll or tax queries
  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Position Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working within an Accountancy Practice
  • ACCA / ACA or qualified by experience will be considered
  • Proficiency when using Microsoft packages (Excel, Word)
Position Remuneration
  • Mon - Fri, 9am - 5pm. Lunch 1 hour
  • Holidays - 28 days including bank holidays
  • Pension
  • Onsite parking
  • Progression routes to director level for the right candidate
