Job Description:

Responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring incoming payroll tax notices, researching, and resolving payroll tax issues.
  • Managing multi-jurisdiction taxation for new job setups and ensuring compliance through audits.
  • Registering for new jurisdictions and maintaining communication with agencies.
  • Processing payrolls for multiple locations and states.
  • Reconciling taxes prior to transmission and validating reports.
  • Ensuring compliance reporting and staying updated with government regulations impacting employee taxation.
  • Demonstrating knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll and benefits regulations, including COBRA, FLSA, and FMLA.

Additional responsibilities for Payroll Specialist include:

  • Entering new hires and terminating employees in the payroll system.
  • Processing garnishments, child support orders, and address changes.
  • Managing payroll workflow to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Processing employment verifications and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Processing rate changes and assisting in department growth and projects.
