UK Payroll & Benefits Assistant

  • Location: Central London
  • Hybrid working: 3 days per week in the office

Oakleaf Partnership is delighted to be partnered with a highly regarded professional services firm in the city of London in search of an experienced Payroll and Benefits Assistant. The role will sit within a lean and close-knit team, holding key responsibilities in the end to end running of the monthly in-house UK payroll and benefits.

The Payroll & Benefits Assistant responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the end to end running of the monthly payroll for 600 UK employees in Workday. Including posting payroll journals.
  • Process and administer day to day payroll including starters, leavers, SSP, SMP, SPP, using manual calculations when required.
  • Support on month end and year end processes & reporting.
  • Carry out reconciliations between payroll & HMRC information.
  • Support the administration of benefits including, benefit platform (Darwin) management, and annual renewals.
  • Reconcile monthly and annual benefits information.
  • Support the monthly UK pension management and auto-enrolment.

Essential experience:

  • Strong UK in-house payroll experience (processing payroll monthly including month and year end reporting)
  • Administration and management of employee benefits. Experience working with benefit brokers.
  • Experience and understanding of UK pension auto-enrolment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong excel skills.

Desirable experience:

  • Experience in the professional services sector (particularly partnership models)
  • Experience using Workday
  • Experience using Darwin benefits platform
