Payroll Administrator - Watford (Temp to Perm) - must have SAP experience

Location: Watford, UK

Salary: £15-£16 an hour

Hours: 37 hours per week

Hybrid (3 days in the office)

Are you a detail-oriented Payroll professional looking to join a thriving, large-scale organisation? Our client—a well-established, nationally recognised business headquartered in Watford—is seeking a skilled and motivated Payroll Administrator to join their dynamic HR & Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Accurately process monthly payroll for high-volume employees
  2. Maintain payroll records and update employee data in HR & payroll systems
  3. Handle payroll queries and provide clear, timely responses to employees and managers
  4. Administer statutory payments including SMP, SSP, and SPP
  5. Support year-end processes, including P60s and P11Ds
  6. Liaise with HMRC and other external bodies as required
  7. Contribute to internal payroll audits and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Previous experience in a Payroll Administrator or similar role
  • Solid knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory deductions
  • Proficient in payroll system SAP
  • Strong organisational skills and high attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
  • CIPP qualification (or working towards) is desirable but not essential
