We are looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our People Function at the Trinity House on a full-time, hybrid basis. This is a 13-month fixed-term contract with a salary ranging from £29,173 to £37,860.

Here's what you'll be doing

We're looking for a Payroll Administrator to join our HR Organisational Data & Payroll team. Our mission is to use our expertise and technology to make the complex easy for our colleagues.

You'll be working alongside a supportive team of 7 other Administrators helping the 3 Payroll Advisors, the deputy Payroll Manager and the Payroll Manager to deliver the monthly payroll for around 10,000 colleagues.

Operating in a multi-system environment using both SAP and Workday payroll systems, you'll be responsible for

Responsibilities:

  • The administration of payroll and benefits processes,
  • Handling colleague queries with professional empathy, and owning any issues through to their resolution.
  • You'll develop your own focal areas and support payroll change projects, meaning you'll need to work collaboratively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure our solutions are operating efficiently.
  • Gaining responsibility for key processes, you'll play a critical part in assuring our payroll outputs are accurate, compliant, and easy to understand, so our colleagues can concentrate on helping our customers.


What we need from you

  • Excellent attention to detail and comfortable working with systems and large datasets
  • Highly organised with experience working in virtual teams and able to communicate and deliver a positive customer experience using digital channels (email, live chat)
  • High personal integrity, treating confidential information appropriately
  • A payroll qualification (i.e. CIPP Introduction to PAYE & NIC certificate or equivalent) or experience in payroll and HR administration for a large organisation
  • Experience of SAP and/or Workday administration
