Job summary

The Portfolio Group, exclusive representatives for a cloud-based HR/payroll solution, is expanding its Payroll division in Central Manchester. This office-based role places you at the heart of client service, delivering accurate payroll processing for SME clients with confidence and precision.

You will work alongside experienced colleagues, following our Payroll Processing Checklist, managing auto enrolment and pensions, and staying up to date with UK legislation, PAYE and statutory payments

Qualifications

• End-to-end payroll experience with UK legislation, statutory payments, auto enrolment and PAYE rules.
• Client-focused with strong communication, able to explain gross to net calculations and resolve data queries.
• Organised and deadline-driven, able to manage multiple client payrolls to schedule.
• Growth-minded, open to feedback and developing skills in a growing payroll division.
• Bureau experience in outsourced payroll is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate and timely payroll processing for a portfolio of SME clients.
• Follow the Payroll Processing Checklist to ensure activities are completed on schedule.
• Manage auto enrolment and pensions administration for clients.
• Apply knowledge of statutory payments, tax regulations, and UK payroll legislation.
• Liaise with clients to resolve data queries and explain payroll changes.
• Handle payroll documents such as MatB1s, P45s, starter checklists and court orders.
• Ensure transactions are peer-checked for accuracy and promote continuous learning.
