Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for multiple motivated Payroll Administrators to join our Recruitment and Pay Teams, providing a shared service across Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils and schools.

The ideal candidates will have experience working in a payroll environment. Knowledge and understanding of HR and Payroll practices are essential, and familiarity with UNIT ERP system would be beneficial. These Payroll Administrator roles are key in delivering payroll services for all council and school employees.

Additionally, these roles suit individuals with good IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office, an outgoing personality, excellent communication skills, a proactive and positive attitude, strong organisational and multitasking abilities, and the capacity to manage pressure effectively and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  1. Managing and checking payroll data
  2. Producing contractual paperwork
  3. Responding to payroll and contractual queries
  4. Calculating absences such as sick pay and maternity pay
  5. Monitoring and responding to all queries using a customer management system
