Job description

We're looking for an organised and detail-focused Payroll Administrator to join our team. Whether you already have payroll experience or you're an experienced administrator looking to develop your career in payroll, we'd love to hear from you.

In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring our payroll processes run smoothly, supporting colleagues with payroll and system queries, maintaining accurate employee records, and helping to deliver an excellent service across the business. If you're highly organised, enjoy working with data, and can confidently prioritise a busy workload, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

What you'll be doing...

As a Payroll Administrator, you'll support the smooth running of the payroll function while ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and internal policies. You'll work closely with HR, Finance and colleagues across the business to provide an efficient and professional service.

  • Maintain accurate employee records, including starters, leavers and changes to pay or personal details.
  • Manage the Dayforce payroll inbox, responding to and prioritising queries.
  • Provide first-line support to colleagues experiencing Dayforce login or system access issues via phone and email.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries in a timely manner.
  • Ensure payroll information is processed accurately and in line with HMRC regulations and company policies.
  • Liaise with pension providers, benefits teams and third-party payroll providers where required.
  • Support payroll audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee data in line with GDPR.
  • Build positive working relationships with colleagues across the business to deliver an excellent payroll service.

Working pattern: Monday to Friday | 8am -4:30pm | Hybrid working, 3 days in the office, 2 days at home

Job ID: 7364

What can you bring?

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, enjoys working with detail, and can confidently manage multiple priorities. You'll be a great fit if you have:

  • Previous payroll experience (desirable), or significant experience in a busy administrative role with transferable skills.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Good IT skills, with confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems (experience with Dayforce would be an advantage).
  • Good communication skills and a professional, customer-focused approach when dealing with colleague queries.
  • An understanding of payroll processes, payroll legislation, tax and pensions would be beneficial, but not essential.
  • The ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
