Job summary

JGA Recruitment Group Ltd is recruiting for a dedicated Payroll Administrator to join our UK team in East Hyde. You will manage weekly payrolls, process new starters and leavers, and ensure statutory documentation is prepared accurately.

You will use Excel to analyse timesheets, resolve discrepancies and liaise with Finance and HMRC to meet deadlines and RTI obligations. The ideal candidate is highly organised, detail-oriented and capable of working under pressure to deliver confidential payroll

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records and enter new starter details into the payroll system.
  • Manage the payroll process for employees joining and leaving the organisation, ensuring all relevant documentation is completed correctly.
  • Produce and distribute statutory payroll documentation, including P45s and P60s.
  • Complete right-to-work and employment eligibility checks for new employees.
  • Support the end-to-end processing of multiple weekly payrolls covering a large and diverse employee population.
  • Prepare payroll journals and ensure payroll information is accurately transferred to the relevant finance systems.
  • Investigate and reconcile payroll and salary-related discrepancies, working closely with Finance where required.
  • Calculate and process a range of payroll adjustments, including statutory leave, sickness payments, pension deductions and other employee changes.
  • Ensure payroll activity complies with current legislation and statutory reporting obligations, including Real Time Information (RTI).
  • Communicate with HMRC and other relevant external bodies regarding payroll and employee matters.
  • Prepare pension and auto-enrolment data and submit required information to external pension providers.
  • Review employee timesheets, investigate anomalies and make appropriate amendments ahead of payroll deadlines.
  • Use Excel to analyse payroll and timesheet information, producing reports to identify trends, discrepancies and areas requiring attention.
  • Work collaboratively with Finance and other internal teams to resolve payroll issues and ensure accurate and timely processing.
  • Provide ongoing support throughout the weekly payroll cycle, helping to ensure all deadlines and controls are met.
  • Respond to employee payroll queries professionally and efficiently, providing clear guidance by phone and email.
  • Maintain accurate payroll records and complete associated administrative tasks as required.
