C&C Search is currently recruiting a Payroll Administrator for a growing financial services firm. This is a fantastic payroll opportunity in a newly created payroll department with exceptional career progression, hybrid working, and the chance to develop your payroll expertise whilst supporting a rapidly growing client portfolio.

Position and Benefits

Position: Junior Payroll Administrator – supporting a team of payroll professionals in a newly established payroll department

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Hybrid set up: Central London office, 3 days per week in office

Key responsibilities
  • Assist with payroll processing for client portfolios across weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll cycles
  • Support statutory payment calculations and processing including SSP, SMP, SPP under supervision
  • Prepare BACS payments and assist with payroll summary reports and analyses
  • Respond to client payroll queries professionally and build positive relationships with clients and stakeholders
  • Support the implementation and use of Bright Pay payroll system
  • Assist with accurate preparation of P60's and P11d's ensuring compliance with deadlines
  • Support tax filing submissions to HMRC, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Maintain payroll records and ensure data accuracy across all payroll processes
  • Liaise with IT department on payroll system upgrades and technical support
Background and experience
  • Previous payroll or finance administration experience with understanding of UK payroll processes
  • Strong attention to detail and numerical accuracy – essential for payroll administration
  • Excellent organisational skills with ability to manage multiple payroll deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll software (Bright Pay experience desirable)
  • Strong communication skills for client interaction and stakeholder management
  • Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive payroll information
  • Proactive approach to learning and developing payroll expertise
