Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for multiple motivated Payroll Administrators to join our Recruitment and Pay Teams providing a shared service across both Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils and schools.


The ideal candidates will have experience working in a payroll environment. Knowledge and understanding of HR and Payroll practice are essential, UNIT4 ERP system knowledge would be beneficial. These exciting Payroll Administrator vacancies play a key role delivering payroll administration for all council and school employees.

In addition to the above these roles would suit someone with good IT skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office, an out-going personality;excellent communication skills;a pro-active and positive attitude withstrong organisational and multitasking skills; who can manage pressure effectively and work on own initiative within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to;

  • Manage and checking of payroll data.
  • Production of contractual paperwork
  • Responding to payroll and contractual queries.
  • Absence calculation eg sick pay, maternity pay etc
  • Monitoring and responding to all queries using a customer management system.
