Minimum Requirements
Previous experience in payroll bureau or accountancy practice
Familiarity with a payroll processing program such as Star Payroll
Ability to handle large volumes of data
Knowledge of RTI requirements
Knowledge of auto enrolment, including processing NEST transactions (preferable)
Knowledge of CIS (preferable)
Good knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Commitment to learning new skills to develop your knowledge
Ability to work well within a team environment
Effective communication skills with internal and external parties
Responsibilities of the Payroll Processor
Work within a small team of 4 staff
Assist with processing all payrolls, including weekly, monthly, and annual payrolls for over 400 clients
Input all new starters and leavers onto the payroll system
Handle basic queries from HMRC
Respond to and resolve payroll queries
Liaise with the Payroll Manager to cover holidays within the department
Undertake training to develop and progress your knowledge and skills, including any apprenticeship routes
Integrate successfully with the team and support other team members
Take on additional tasks as required, following instructions and procedures for payroll operations
