Job summary

SF Partners is seeking an experienced Payments Manager and Treasurer for a maternity cover role in Shirley, Solihull. The role blends day-to-day payments with treasury activities, including cash flow forecasting, banking relationships and financial controls.

The successful candidate will ensure timely payments, manage cash flow, and support audits and reporting while coordinating with the wider finance team and senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Payments Manager or Treasurer role.
• Strong understanding of payment processing, banking systems and financial controls.
• Experience managing payment runs and treasury transactions.
• Good knowledge of cash flow forecasting and liquidity management.
• Experience managing banking relationships and resolving payment queries.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the day-to-day payments function, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and within deadlines.
• Manage payment runs, including BACS, CHAPS, Faster Payments and international payments where applicable.
• Ensure payments are authorised and comply with internal controls.
• Investigate payment queries and discrepancies.
• Maintain payment records and reconcile with bank statements and accounting systems.
• Liaise with banks, suppliers and stakeholders to resolve payment issues.
• Produce regular payment reports and management information.
• Review payment processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
