Job description

Step into this Payments Product Manager role and build something that matters in Financial Services.

This enterprise organisation has built its reputation on exactly that reliability. It now needs a Payments Product Manager who can keep pace with regulatory change while pushing the product forward.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:
  • Own the roadmap for a core payments product, balancing regulatory requirements with commercial priorities
  • Translate complex payment scheme rules and compliance needs into clear product requirements
  • Work closely with engineering, risk and compliance teams to ship features that hold up under scrutiny
  • Run discovery with merchants, partners and internal stakeholders to validate what actually gets built
  • Track product performance against KPIs and adjust the plan when the data says you should
  • Present roadmap decisions and trade-offs to senior leadership with confidence and clarity
Here are the skills you’ll need:
  • Several years' experience in product management within Financial Services, ideally with direct payments exposure

  • Clear written and verbal communication, especially when explaining technical trade-offs to non-technical audiences
Key perks and benefits:
  • £55,500 to £82,500, depending on experience
  • Hybrid working from the Cardiff office, with flexibility built in

Why pursue a career in Financial Services?

Financial Services rewards people who can sit between technical detail and business strategy, and payments sits right at that intersection. Cardiff has quietly become one of the UK's stronger regional hubs for financial services talent, with established employers and genuine career paths rather than a revolving door. Progression here tends to be structured rather than accidental, which suits anyone who wants to build a long-term career rather than just a CV line.
