Job summary

Mentor Talent Acquisition is seeking a senior technical leader to rebuild and deliver a next-generation payments platform in a highly regulated environment.

You will own architecture, drive delivery, and collaborate with product, compliance and infrastructure teams to build scalable, secure, low-latency payments infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Experience building high-volume, low-latency payments platforms.
• Strong background in distributed systems and secure transaction processing.
• Proven ability to drive architecture and delivery in complex environments.
• Knowledge of PCI-DSS, AML/KYC compliance.

Responsibilities

• Build and ship core components for a high-volume, low-latency payments platform.
• Onboard new banking partners and payment providers, creating dependable connections across rails.
• Work across FX, payment rails, P2P transfers and internal fund-flow services.
• Help deliver product capabilities such as stablecoins, card products and receivables financing.
• Own technical decisions on architecture, scalability, security and reliability.
• Partner with engineering, product, compliance and infra teams to deliver complete solutions.
• Set and uphold engineering standards for testing, monitoring and CD.
• Anticipate and resolve technical risks in a regulated environment.
• Create robust fraud protection mechanisms with strong controls.

Job description

Guide a major rebuild of its payments platform, which handles billions of dollars in monthly volume. As the senior technical voice on the project, you will set the architecture and drive delivery of the platform’s next generation. Your background in distributed systems, secure transaction processing and highly available architectures will be key to building a resilient, scalable payments infrastructure.

What you’ll do

• Build and ship core components for a high-volume, low-latency payments platform;
• Onboard new banking partners and payment providers, creating dependable and easy-to-maintain connections across multiple payment rails;
• Work across FX, payment rails, peer-to-peer transfers and internal fund-flow services to enable smooth payment experiences;
• Help deliver new product capabilities such as stablecoin-based payment flows, card products and receivables financing;
• Own technical decisions on architecture, scalability, security and reliability;
• Partner with engineering, product, compliance and infrastructure teams to deliver complete solutions;
• Set and uphold strong engineering standards, including best practices for testing, monitoring and continuous deployment;
• Anticipate and resolve technical risks in a complex, regulated environment;
• Create thorough fraud protection mechanisms with strong controls to prevent, detect and mitigate financial fraud.

Nice-to-haves

• Hands-on experience with leading fintech bank integrations, such as Banking-as-a-Service providers or core banking platforms;
• Background in digital wallets, identity or fraud detection systems;
• Knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS and AML/KYC;
• Experience with Temporal or similar workflow orchestration tools.
