We're looking for a Payment Compliance Lead to help manage compliance, reduce fraud risks, and optimize payment performance. You'll work across teams, ensuring our payment processes are both secure and efficient, so we can continue scaling with confidence.

Key Responsibilities
Compliance & Risk Management
  1. Ensure adherence to Visa, MasterCard, AMEX and other global regulations.
  2. Develop scalable policies and monitoring frameworks to reduce risk.
  3. Stay ahead of regulatory updates and assess their impact on payment operations.
  4. Conduct audits, risk assessments, and compliance checks to identify areas for improvement.
  5. Manage fraud prevention rules, balancing risk reduction with revenue growth.
  6. Work with data science teams to optimize AI-driven fraud detection models.
  7. Define and execute the Risk Reduction Roadmap, introducing new strategies and technologies.
  8. Monitor and report transaction patterns to detect unusual behaviours and potential fraud.
Product & Technology for Risk Mitigation
  1. Own the Risk Mitigation Roadmap, ensuring compliance and fraud prevention align with business needs.
  2. Identify gaps in fraud tools and propose enhancements like real-time monitoring dashboards and automated chargeback solutions.
  3. Work with engineering teams to implement secure, scalable, automated risk management systems.
  4. Analyse how fraud rules impact customer experience and revenue, ensuring the right balance.
  5. Use data analytics and machine learning to predict and prevent fraud.
Payments Strategy & Partnerships
  1. Work with finance, product, and engineering teams to support growth and expansion.
  2. Respond to third-party compliance audits and payment provider inquiries.
  3. Improve authorization rates and reduce failed payments through strategic planning.
Reporting & Communication
  1. Provide weekly and monthly risk exposure forecasts and chargeback analysis.
  2. Communicate compliance updates and risk reduction strategies across the business.
  3. Generate clear, data-driven reports on payment trends and compliance performance.
  4. Advise internal teams on best practices for payment compliance.
What You'll Need
  1. 5+ years of experience in payment compliance, risk management, or fraud prevention.
  2. Strong knowledge of card scheme regulations and global compliance frameworks.
  3. Strong communication and project management skills.
  4. Experience with fraud prevention tools, chargeback management, and risk analytics.
  5. Ability to work cross-functionally with finance, marketing, engineering, and product teams.
  6. Analytical mindset with experience in data-driven decision-making.
  7. Experience working with payment gateways, acquirers, and payment orchestration platforms.
